Petrol engines work by mixing air and fuel together and igniting them with a spark to produce an explosion. To get more power from an engine you need to increase the volume of both fuel and air enterong the cylinders. A cars engine maintains the air/fuel ratio , so by increasing one you increase the other. There are many different ways to do this, here are a few.

NITROUS
An injection of nitrous gives a great instant power gain. It works by squirting a cold mist into the cylinders, the incredibly dense gas forces the ECU to flow more fuel in, giving a bigger explosion. The temperature inside the cylinders forces a chemical breakdown releasing more oxygen aiding more power.
Kits range from 25-500bhp in power gains. Strengthening of engine components for kits over 100bhp is advised to avoid detonation.
